27th International Symposium on Plant Lipids

PAUL K. STUMPF AWARD

At each ISPL meeting, the ISPL community also recognizes excellence among early-career researchers through the presentation of the Paul K. Stumpf Award. This award honors the landmark contributions of Paul Stumpf to the field of plant lipid biochemistry. The recipient will receive the award and will have the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation of their submitted paper at the 27th ISPL.

Applications for the Paul K. Stumpf Award are now open.

To be eligible, applicants must either (a) be currently undertaking a PhD project in plant lipid science, or (b) hold a PhD with fewer than eight years of relevant postdoctoral experience. Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2026, and outcomes will be communicated before April 7, 2026. Selection will be based primarily on scientific merit and the candidate’s potential, in keeping with Paul Stumpf’s vision of fostering a worldwide community of plant lipid researchers.

Applicants should submit the following materials:

  • A letter demonstrating eligibility and outlining career achievements
  • A curriculum vitae (CV)
  • The abstract of the proposed presentation (this abstract must also be submitted online by March 15, 2026)

In addition, applicants must arrange for a confidential letter of recommendation from their supervisor or a senior colleague. This letter must be submitted directly to the ISPL Organizing Committee by the referee.

All application materials must be submitted by email to noemi.ruiz@uma.es no later than March 15, 2026.
